Festool is a German power tool manufacturer. Festool Group GmbH & Co. KG is headquartered in Wendlingen and is a subsidiary of TTS Tooltechnic Systems. It is well-known for its system-based approach to power tools and its emphasis on dust extraction. Fezer & Stoll was founded in 1925 by Gottlieb Stoll and Albert Fezer under the name Fezer & Stoll. In 1927, the company produced the world’s first portable chainsaw. In 1933, the company’s name was shortened to Festo. Festo Tooltechnic was founded in 1992 by Festo, and the power tool division was spun off into an independent company, Festool, in 2000. The company is still privately owned by Gottlieb Stoll’s family.
